Mary A. Bentler, 78, of Hampton Township, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Valley View Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Newton.

Born and raised in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, Mary had been a resident of Sussex County for 52 years. She was a homemaker and nanny. A member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Swartswood, Mary was also member of the Newton Moose Lodge.

The daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (nee Icebocker) Dickson, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles Bentler, Sr., in 2012; her son, Charles Bentler, Jr.; and her sister, Doris Black. She is survived by her son, Michael Bentler and wife, Cathy, of Hampton Township; her daughter, Audrey Martin and husband, Ralph, Jr., of Cushing, Maine; two brothers, Walter Dickson and Eddie Dickson of Dickson City, Pennsylvania; her sister, Nancy Loscombe of Leroy, New York; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jesse; and one great-grandson, Ethan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton. Interment will follow in Frankford Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
