Fredon – Willard John Klemm, 86, of Waterwheel Farm, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice located on the farm.

Born in Bergen County, NJ, on September 28, 1930, Willard came to the farm, when he was just 19 years old, as a farmhand. Willard, "Hank," was a devoted and loving man whose life revolved around his family, farm, and church. And anyone who knew Willard knew that he was never late for a meal time!

He was one of the original founders of Westbrook Farms; owner/operator of Green Acres Disposal; co-owner of Skuba and Klemm Excavating & Trucking Company; and proud owner and operator of the beautiful Waterwheel Farm for over 60 years. Willard was also a former owner of The Gristmill in Stillwater and volunteered as a member of the Yellow Frame Cemetery Association.

Willard was predeceased by his son, David Klemm, on April 8, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Jeanette; daughter-in-law, Diane Klemm of Fredon; grandson, Brian Klemm and wife, Kristin, and son, Landon, of Apex, NC; granddaughter, Alissa (Klemm) Meyer and husband, Aaron, and their children, Evan and Elle, of Apex, NC; grandson, Bradley Klemm of Fredon; son, Daniel Klemm and wife, Kathy, of Stillwater; granddaughter, Nicole (Klemm) Battaglia and husband, Anthony, and their children, Kalli, Carmine, Alexa, and Gianna, of Hampton; Kathy's daughters Kristy, Heather, and Katie and granddaughter, Ria; brother, Leroy Klemm and wife, Lavonne, of Arizona; and brother, Robert Klemm and wife, Pat, of Blairstown. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. The Klemm Family Reunions have in the past numbered close to 200 family members – that's a lot of chicken!

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton Sparta Road, Andover Township, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton. Interment will be private at Yellow Frame Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Willard's name, may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860 or to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton Sparta Road, Newton, NJ 07860.

The family would like to thank everyone at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, in Fredon, for their extraordinary kindness while taking care of Willard. The family also extends their thanks and gratitude to all of those who have been so supportive and caring over the past years.
