Karen L. Johnson, 67, of Branchville, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Maplewood, Karen was raised in Morris County. She received her degree in Web Design from Sussex County Community College. She was a teacher's aide at Kittatinny Regional High School and Mt. Olive Middle School and was also a web designer. The founder of the Women's Auxiliary of the Branchville Fire Department, Karen was an avid gardener, loved animals, and enjoyed creating handmade crafts.

The daughter of the late Patricia (Clancy) Kresge, Karen was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Johnson, on March 18, 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Gilbert and husband, Benjamin, of Flanders and Dawn Johnson of Branchville; a granddaughter, Rebecca Gilbert; her father, Eugene Kresge of Lafayette; three siblings, Eugene Kresge and wife, Patricia, of Wantage, Pamela Decker and husband, Tad, of Branchville, and Mathew Kresge and wife, Sherry, of Newfoundland; as well as two nieces and two nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in the Branchville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville.
