Gloria Sarni, 88, of Stillwater, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Township.

Born in Jersey City, Gloria lived in North Arlington, Rutherford, Port Reading and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, before moving to Stillwater. She wrote medical reports for Dr. Wilner and also worked as an aide for the Port Reading School No. 9 before her retirement. Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The daughter of the late Edmund and Dorothy (nee Appulise) Faiella, Gloria was also predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Sarni, in 1972 and by her stepmother, Amelia Faiella. She is survived by her son, Richard Sarni and his wife, Lisa, of Stillwater; her daughter, Linda Baird and her husband, Timothy, of North Port, Florida; her grandchildren, Alisha Nichols and her husband, Christopher, of Andover, Gabrielle Sarni Alexis Sarni and Richard E. Sarni, all of Stillwater and Colin Baird of North Port; and a great-grandson, Landon Nichols, of Andover. She is also survived by two brothers, Edmund Faiella and Paul Faiella, both of Florida; nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton, 54 High Street, Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
