Josephine "Jessie" Sevcik, known as "Lola" to her many loved ones, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, at the Barn Hill Care Center, on January 13, 2017, at age ...

Jessie was born in Palawan, Philippines and as a young woman moved to the United States and became a longtime resident of Sandyston Township. Jessie worked for many years at The Walpack Inn and later in life was employed at SCARC in Branchville NJ, until her retirement.

With respect to her wishes, she did not want a long obituary. What was the most important aspect to know of her life, is her love of "family." She set the perfect example of the true meaning of that word. No matter what changes life brought her, she accepted with open arms anyone and everyone, and they too became her family and were genuinely loved. She spent her lifetime trying to be there for everyone and to keep us all together. It was what meant so much to her.

Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerome M. Sevcik in 2014, her daughter, Betty Sue Denzer Ball in 1983, and her grandson, Jonathan Ryan Ball in 1995.

Her legacy in love and the importance of family will be carried on by her daughters: Laurel Denzer and husband, Walter Drag, of Wantage, NJ and Nina Hoopmann-Condit and her partner, Kevin Hanley, of Conifer, CO; as well as by her beloved family, Glenn & Casey Ball of Wantage NJ, Robert and Judy Lock of Branchville, NJ, Ken And Debra Serafin of Colorado Springs, CO; her cherished grandchildren, Daniel Ball, Ian Denzer-Weiler and wife, Caitlin, Kailey Denzer-Weiler, Cassidy Condit McCarter and husband, Kyle, Parker Condit, Kim Lock, Jeremy Lock and partner, Trish Sullivan, Matthew Lock, Shane Lock, Allison Serafin, Drew Serafin, Heather Anderson and husband, Brandt, Chris Kolloff and wife, Linda; and her great-grandchildren.

A final note to those who ever celebrated a birthday with Lola, the ... is lovingly intentional.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, followed by a 5:30 p.m. Memorial Service at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 350 Sparta Avenue, Building B, Suite 2, Sparta, NJ 07871 or the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 105, Northfield, IL 60093. Online condolences may be offered at www.woodfuneralhome.net.
