Louis P. Amari, 86, of Frankford Township, died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Boonton, Mr. Amari lived in Stillwater before to moving to Frankford Township in 1975. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. The owner/operator of Augusta Auto Body in Augusta, Mr. Amari retired over 20 years ago. He was an avid golfer.

The son of the late Americo L. and Olga Amari McClurkin, Mr. Amari was also predeceased by his brother, Donald Amari, and his sister, Carol Trotter Newcome. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, MaryAnne M. Amari; four daughters, Susan L. Deckenbach and husband, Mark, of Stillwater, Lora J. Musilli and husband, Chuck, of Wantage Township, Carolyn N. Niemis and husband, George, Jr., of Highland Lakes, and Kathleen B. Parker and husband, Paul, of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dallas, Morgan, Nick, Matt, Jake, Lindsey, Jared and Zachary; four great-grandchildren, Emilee, Maci, Holden and Louis; as well as his sister, Diana Gulla of Boonton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville. Interment will follow in the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
