John W. Magrino, Sr., 77, of the Culver Lake section of Frankford Township, died Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, New York, John raised his family in New City, New York. He was a longtime summer resident of the Culver Lake section of Frankford Township before moving there permanently in 2002. John received his Bachelors from Pace University. He was a Branch Manager for Chase Manhattan Bank for 20 years, then held the position of Legislative Financial Analyst for the City Council of New York for 22 years before his retirement in 2002. John was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Branchville, where he was also a volunteer.

The son of the late Daniel and Rose (Spaldi) Magrino, John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean (Composto) Magrino; three children, Jeanmarie Arnold and husband, Nelson, Daniel Magrino and wife, Sharon, and John Magrino, Jr., and wife, Gena; three grandchildren, Nicolas and Giavana Magrino and Jeffrey Arnold; his brother, Robert Magrino and wife, Rose; and his sister, Lorraine George and husband, John.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Branchville. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
