Debra Stark, 58, of Layton, lost her second battle with cancer on Sunday, December 18, 2016, and went to be with her Lord.

Born in Newton on June 4, 1958, Debra was a lifelong Sussex County resident. She was inspired and hard working, having studied at Kutztown University, Montclair State University and the Fashion Institute of Design.

Debra managed Sparta Coin and Jewelry store from 1998 until her recent illness. She was very creative from childhood and based her line of jewelry on nature; she was also a resident artist at Peter's Valley for five years. Debra was a true artist; she looked at the world with two different colored eyes. She loved children, nature, and all of God's creation. Debra also participated in the Good News Christian Fellowship Church's "GO" Youth Ministry.

She is survived by her beloved husband and soul mate, Charles Stoveken; her parents, Howard and Marilyn (nee Bayer) Stark, of Branchville; her siblings, James B. Stark and wife, Michelle of Newton, Susan E. Stark, of Branchville, Howard G. Stark and wife, Amor, of Sparta, and Julie A.
