David J. Berhman, 61, of Hawley, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 17, 2016, at home.

Born in Denville, David was raised in Branchville and lived in Port Jervis, New York, and Sparrowbush, New York, before moving to Hawley in 2009. He was a foreman at the Montague Department of Public Works for the past 39 years. David was a life member of the Montague Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past Assistant Chief. An avid outdoorsman, he was a hunter and gun enthusiast, as well as a car enthusiast, and also enjoyed his Harley Motorcycle.

The son of the late Francis Patrick and Gertrude (nee Galgay) Berhman, David was also
Predeceased by his brother, Patrick Berhman. He is survived by his son, Josh Berhman and wife, Shannon, of Glenford, New York; his daughters, Erin Berhman of Port Jervis, New York, and Catherine Berhman of Clifton Park, New York; four sisters, Wendy Berhman, Joan Brazelton, Patricia MacDonald, and Mary Ellen Haenichen; two brothers, Thomas and Michael Berhman; and twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville. Interment will follow in Branchville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m., with Firemen's Services at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
