Ruth E. Lott, 80, of Hampton Township, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Ruth lived in Pomona, New York, from 1976 to 2001, at which time she moved to Hampton Township. She was a graduate of Nyack College in Nyack, New York. A member of Sparta Evangelical Free Church, Ruth was a former member of the Park Evangelical Free Church in New City, New York, and a former member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Teaneck. She was a homemaker.

The daughter of the late Herschel and Mary Edna (nee Mc Cartney) Longberry, Ruth was also predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Blair, and a brother, Merle Longberrry. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leroy Lott, of Hampton Township; her daughter, Cynthia Vogel and husband, Eric, of Milford, Pennsylvania; her son, Wesley Lott and Lauren Lott, of Arden, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Alexa Vogel and Ethan Lott; her sister, Dorothy Jones, of Titusville, Pennsylvania; and her sister-in-law, Clara Longberry.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Sparta Evangelical Free Church, 385 Houses Corner Road, Sparta. Family and friends visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, in Branchville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Haiti Relief, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
