Clara "Janette" Holmer will be remembered by all for her kind heart, generous spirit and infectious smile. She passed away on October 6 after 96 years of enjoying life.

Janette had a special place on this earth as a mother and grandmother. She was all about family. She spent most of her days helping Leonard, her husband of 62 years, run their gas station in Republic, Ohio. But her true joy was taking care of her family, especially her sons, Roger and Randy. After retiring to Florida in the late 1970s, Janette didn't think life could get any better. But it did with the arrival of her first granddaughter, Anna. They soon relocated to Vancouver, Washington to be closer to her. A few years later, Janette and Leonard were blessed again with their second granddaughter, Melissa. For many years, they enjoyed spending time with "their girls" and watching them grow up to become successful women.

Janette is survived by her son, Randy and his wife, Kathy Holmer of Andover, NJ; granddaughters, Anna (Bobby) Olson and their two daughters, Bailey and Alivia of Grafenwohr, Germany, and Melissa Holmer of Seattle, Washington; brother, Ken (Dorothy) Corthell of Tiffin, Ohio; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Janette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Roger, brothers, Gilbert, Bob, John, Don and Paul Corthell, and sisters, Helen Cole and Catherine Brooks.

A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on October 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 36 Melmore St., Tiffin, OH 44883. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, County Road 38, Pleasant Township.
