Jack Lamar Snook, Sr., 86, of Branchville, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at Bentley Assisted Living in Branchville.

Born in Hampton Township, Jack was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. He was employed by the County of Sussex Road Department for 30 years before his retirement. Jack was an active volunteer and supporter of various Sussex County 4H Clubs, as well as the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, making hay, and gardening. He also was a tractor collector and a hobby mechanic. Most of all, Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The son of the late Howard Snook, Jack was also predeceased by his mother, Mary Titman Crissey and her husband, Stephen Roy Crissey, and a son, Jack Lamar Snook, Jr., on May 14, 1974. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth M. Snook, formerly of Hampton Township; two sons, Donald Snook and wife, Susan, of Hampton Township and Jim Snook and wife, Penny, of St. Cloud, Florida; six daughters, Peggy Parker and husband, Allen, of Franklin, Nancy J. Snook of Sparta, Bonnie Haughey and husband, Joe, of Folsom, Pennsylvania, Judy Bruley and husband, Roger, of Ashburn, Virginia, Amy Hennighan and husband, Dan, of Andover, and Tammy Kent and husband, Dan, of Hampton Township; twenty-one grandchildren, Allen Parker, Jason Parker, Stephen Parker, Daniel Parker, Carissa (Parker) Crawford, Faith (Parker) Muddiman, Joshua Bruley, Jackie (Bruley) Reha, Jessica (Bruley) Dehond, Timothy Snook, Christopher Snook, Kacey Snook, Michael Haughey, Jack Haughey, Thomas Haughey, Joseph Haughey, Jr., Daniel Kent V, Denton Kent, Paige Hennighan, Daniel Hennighan and Cody Kinney; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Stephen, Henry, Taylor, Lily, Kayla, Benjamin, Allie, Addison, Nathan, Hailey, Paislee, Cameron, Hudson, Ellise and Preston. He is also survived by his half-brother, Nelson Crissey and his wife, Shirley, and their children; and his cousins, Lois Zitone and Richard Blauvelt and his wife, Dorothy, and their children.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at Baleville Congregational Christian Church, 6 Church Road, Hampton Township, followed by a 12 noon Funeral Service at the church. Interment will be in Baleville Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
