Armand Rossi, 75, of Newton, died peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Hackensack, Armand was raised in Wood-Ridge and has lived in Newton since 1977. He was the owner/operator of Rossi Flooring LLC in Newton since 1977. A United States Army veteran, Armand served during the Korean Conflict. He was the former Commander of American Legion Post 86 in Newton, serving as Commander for 20 years. An avid Yankee and Giants fan, Armand started the American Legion Baseball team and also enjoyed golfing.

The son of the late Armand Rossi, Sr., and Helen (nee Sokolowski) Rossi, Armand was also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Rossi, in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon (nee Somma) Rossi; four children, Armand Scott Rossi of Hopatcong, Mark Rossi of Hampton Township, Eric Rossi of Newton, and Keith Rossi of Newton; ten grandchildren, Gionna, Dillon, Hunter, Tanner, Peyton, Lewis, Emily, Anthony, Derek, and Jesse; three brothers, Joseph Rossi of Budd Lake, Albert Rossi and wife, Debbie, of Brewster, New York, and Dean Rossi and wife, Coleen, of Neptune; and three sisters, Lorraine Rodriguez and husband, Bob, of Nutley, Susan Komeshok and husband, Greg, of Passaic, Eileen Spirito and husband, Dennis, of Wood-Ridge; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. His greatest joy was being with his wife, Sharon, as well as his family and many close friends.

Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
