Victor Brown, Sr., 89, of Hamburg, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Weehawken, Mr. Brown lived in Sussex County for over 30 years, then lived in
Toms River for eight years before returning to Sussex County. He was a United States World War II Army veteran. A truck driver and painter, Mr. Brown worked for Western Electric in Kearney for 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed socializing with others and was a member of the Hardyston, Frankford and Franklin Seniors. A member of the Knights of Columbus in Toms River, Mr. Brown was also a member of the Pioneers – Western Electric. He loved John Wayne and old western movies.

The son of the late Arthur and Jennie Brown, Mr. Brown was also predeceased by his wife, Cosma D. Brown in 2011. He is survived by two sons, Victor Brown, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Augusta, and Arthur Brown and wife, Judith, of Clinton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many loving friends.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Branchville. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
