Donald Roy Richard, 76, of Green Township, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Heath Village in Hackettstown.

Born in Orange, Mr. Richard lived in West Orange before moving to Green Township. A student of Newark College of Engineering and graduate of West Orange High School, Mr. Richard served in the National Guard and was a member of the National Rifle Association, as well as an active member and past president of the Franklin Revolver and Rifle Association in Franklin. Mr. Richard started his career in drafting and spent his life as an electrical contractor, either working for a few different companies through the years or running his own business.

He married his love Charlotte (died Oct 11, 2015) on September 10, 1960. They are both now reunited with their love.

Son of the late Felix and Jeanne Richard (nee Gamache), Mr. Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Michele Richard of Flanders; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jeff Detweiler of Ellicott City, MD; and seven grandsons.

Memorial visitation is Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 12 to1:45 pm at the Smith-McCracken, 63 High Street, Newton, with a memorial service beginning at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
